The theme I took on the road this year was, "DON'T MISS IT!" The idea behind the whole thing was based upon Jesus' admonition in Matthew 13:9 where He told His listeners, "Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear." In other words, we had better pay attention to what is being said and taught or we are very likely to miss something of profound importance.
Back in June [it seems so long ago] as the TX temperatures were starting to climb, I was with Dale Wilt and the good folks at New Life Baptist Church right here in Tyler. Several kids gave their hearts and lives to the Lord. This was a portent of things to come. What a great kick off for summer.
The adventure continued at several camps in Siloam Springs, AR; Eupora, MS; Romeo, MI; and, Stanton, TX, where dozens of children considered the truth of God's Word and responded in faith to the drawing of the Holy Spirit toward the new birth.
Vacation Bible Schools in Lima, OH; Sulphur Springs, TX; Doniphan, MO; Flint, MI; and, Wichita, KS also saw great results with regard to Kingdom growth. I love to see the wheels turning in a child's head when the truth of scripture bumps up against their normal thought process. I love to see them consider their lives in light of eternity. I love to see them say, "Yes" to the God who loves them and desires for them to be restored to Him. I love my 'job.'
If there is, I haven't found it, and that never ceases to amaze me.
